Delivery changes

What If Funeral Service Details Change After You Order Flowers?

Know what to do when the service time, funeral home, chapel, church, cemetery, or family destination changes after an order.

Short answer

Contact the florist immediately with the order number and corrected details. Do not assume the funeral home will forward flowers to a new venue.

Call as soon as you learn of the change

A florist may be able to update the route before design or dispatch. Changes become harder after the arrangement leaves the shop.

Provide complete corrected details

Give the order number, deceased person’s full name, old destination, new destination, new event time, and a working contact number.

Ask what stage the order has reached

The available options depend on whether the flowers are unmade, in design, ready, dispatched, or already delivered. Product and delivery fees may change with the route.

Do not rely on automatic forwarding

A funeral home, church, or cemetery may not move flowers to another site. The florist needs direct confirmation of the new destination and receiving window.

If the service has already started

Ask whether delivery to the family home is appropriate. A vase arrangement or plant may be easier for the family to receive later than a large formal service piece.
