Say what you need before choosing a product
A specific exclusion is different from a general style preference. You might prefer a different flower, dislike a scent, or need to follow the family’s instructions. Tell the florist what must be left out and ask for confirmation before the arrangement is prepared. You do not need to put a private medical explanation on the sympathy card.
An original request could read: “The family has asked for no lilies. Can you confirm a suitable arrangement for this address and date before I order?” Include the service destination, receiving window, and budget so the answer covers the whole order, not just a possible flower substitution.
Check descriptions as well as photographs
Bloom Lane’s Serene Bouquet description includes white lilies, and Lily & Rose Tribute is not a sensible default when lilies must be excluded. A flower can also be hard to identify in a small product photograph. Do not treat the absence of a visible bloom as a guarantee about the full recipe.
Ask about every part of the proposed design, including supporting flowers and substitutions. A blue or pink palette does not establish which flower species will be used. If the florist cannot confirm the requirement, select another agreed gift or wait for a suitable option rather than placing the order with conflicting instructions.
Lily-free is not the same as pet-safe or allergy-free
The FDA warns that true lilies and daylilies are highly dangerous to cats, including their pollen and vase water. It advises keeping them out of homes with cats. If a cat may have eaten lily material or pollen, or drunk lily vase water, contact a veterinarian or pet poison service immediately.
Removing lilies alone does not establish that the rest of a bouquet is safe for pets. Ask a veterinarian about the complete plant list when pet safety is the concern. Likewise, this guide does not certify any arrangement as allergy-free or scent-free. Follow the recipient’s requirements and relevant professional advice rather than relying on a product name.
Consider where the flowers go after the service
A service arrangement may later be taken to a private home. Ask the person coordinating the flowers whether that is the plan, and share any essential exclusion before ordering. Do not assume a funeral-home delivery removes concerns about where the arrangement will eventually be kept.
Keep the confirmed instructions with your order and make one person available to answer questions. If a group is buying together, let that person approve any proposed change. The florist should not have to choose between conflicting messages from several senders.
Allow time for a confirmed alternative
A special request can affect the available products and delivery dates. Bloom Lane’s general same-day cutoff is 12 PM at the destination, subject to product, florist, and receiving availability. It does not guarantee that an altered design can be made for today’s service.
Custom Service Tribute is a local, advance-order product in the catalog, not an automatic lily-free solution. Discuss the complete request before buying it. If no suitable flowers can be confirmed in time, a personal card or another family-approved gesture is better than an arrangement that does not meet their wishes.
