Which should you choose?
Choose Bloom Lane if you want the product price to be the full price before tax. You are sending to a New York hub ZIP such as 10801, where Bloom Lane’s own New York team delivers. You want a handwritten card included, and you do not want a membership sign-in or offer in the order flow.
Choose 1-800-Flowers if you want a Medium arrangement at a lower starting price than Bloom Lane’s Signature, and you can accept a service fee that shows as “TBD” until later in checkout. You want live chat for order help. You need same-day delivery for a weekday order placed after noon, since 1-800-Flowers’ residential weekday cutoff is 3:00 p.m.
Switching probably isn’t worth it if you are a Celebrations Passport member who orders often. Its FAQ says some service charges and shipping costs do not apply to members on certain delivery speeds, and moving would give that up.
The same order on both sites
Example checked October 14, 2026. Bloom Lane’s Designer’s Choice Signature is compared with 1-800-Flowers’ One of a Kind Bouquet, Local Florist Designed, in the Medium size. Both orders go to New Rochelle, NY 10801 on Tuesday, October 20, 2026, with standard delivery, a card message, and no add-ons. We did not complete either checkout. We entered no personal details, account information or payment.

On the card message, 1-800-Flowers offers a “Complimentary Greeting Message” and a “+$5.99 Personalized Greeting Card.” The page text does not make clear which one applies to a standard card message, so this example does not count the $5.99.
Sizes are not directly comparable. Bloom Lane describes its tiers without stem counts or dimensions. The 1-800-Flowers pages we checked list Small through Premium sizes, with no stem counts or dimensions for the Medium.

What the total actually depends on
Bloom Lane’s total for this order is $139 plus applicable tax. Tax is the only amount added on top. Optional celebration balloons are the only add-on we found.
1-800-Flowers’ total is $64.99, plus a service fee we could not see for this address and date, plus taxes. In the cart we saw add-ons such as Mylar balloons ($5.99 to $11.99), a gourmet strawberry box ($39.99), Sweet Treats ($19.99) and a plush ($19.99). We declined all of them. Its date picker showed no surcharge for October 20, but it did show surcharges of $2.99 on October 17, 18, 24, 25 and 31 and $3.99 on October 15. 1-800-Flowers may still be cheaper overall. Its Medium bouquet is also a different size from Bloom Lane’s Signature, so a lower total does not buy the same gift.
What switching involves
For a one-off flower order, there is nothing to migrate. Keep the recipient’s address, phone number and card wording in your own notes, so you can enter them on the other site. If you have a Celebrations Passport membership, check its terms before you leave it, since its service-charge and shipping benefits would no longer apply. Bloom Lane has no membership to give up. Keep 1-800-Flowers order confirmations too, since they are the record you will need if a delivery goes wrong.
How we checked
This page was prepared by the Bloom Lane team. Facts were checked October 14, 2026.
We walked 1-800-Flowers’ order flow to the cart and shipping step for the example above. We chose the ZIP code and date, added the bouquet to the cart, and stopped before entering any personal details, account information or payment. We also read 1-800-Flowers’ FAQ, same-day and customer-service pages. Bloom Lane’s prices and policies come from our own product catalog, checkout and policy pages.
This is our own comparison, so we have an interest in how it reads. Prices and policies change, so check both checkouts before you order.

Questions people ask
Is 1-800-Flowers cheaper than Bloom Lane?
On the product page, yes. The Medium One of a Kind Bouquet lists at $64.99, and Bloom Lane’s Designer’s Choice Signature lists at $139. Those are different products and sizes. The 1-800-Flowers service fee shows as “TBD” until later in checkout, and tax is added on top of both. We could not see the full 1-800-Flowers total, but the gap is about $74 before fees, so its order would usually still cost less. Bloom Lane’s difference is that $139 is the whole price before tax, shown up front. Compare what you would receive as well as the total.
Does 1-800-Flowers add a surcharge for certain dates?
Not for October 20, 2026, in the date picker we checked. We saw surcharges of $2.99 on October 17, 18, 24, 25 and 31, and $3.99 on October 15. Check the date you choose before you pay.
Does 1-800-Flowers guarantee its flowers?
We did not find a written guarantee on 1-800-Flowers’ FAQ, customer-service or terms pages. Bloom Lane publishes no written guarantee either. Ask support about cancellations, replacements or refunds before you order from either site.
Does Bloom Lane include a membership fee?
No. Bloom Lane has no membership or subscription program. Its only optional extra in the order we checked was celebration balloons. Applicable tax is added on top of the product price.
