Which should you choose?

Choose Bloom Lane if you want the product price to be the full price before tax. You are sending to a New York hub ZIP such as 10801, where Bloom Lane’s own New York team delivers. You want a handwritten card included, and you do not want a membership offer in the order flow.

Choose FTD if you want the lower starting price on a comparable bouquet and can accept a delivery charge you will not see until later. You want a written 7-day freshness guarantee. You want 24/7 phone or live chat support. You need same-day delivery for an order placed after noon, since FTD’s weekday same-day cutoff is 2 p.m.

Switching probably isn’t worth it if you already use an FTD Plus membership you would give up, or if you are buying a one-off gift and the 7-day guarantee matters to you. Bloom Lane publishes no written guarantee.

The same order on both sites

Example checked October 14, 2026. Bloom Lane’s Designer’s Choice Signature is compared with a mixed fall bouquet from FTD in its Deluxe size. Both orders go to New Rochelle, NY 10801 on Tuesday, October 20, 2026, with standard delivery, a card message, and no add-ons. We did not complete either checkout. We entered no personal details, account information or payment.

Bloom Lane, Designer’s Choice Signature

• Product price: $139. Delivery and service/handling are included, with no separate delivery fee.
• Fee shown before personal details: none. Applicable tax is added on top.
• What you know before entering details: $139, plus applicable tax.

FTD, mixed fall bouquet, Deluxe

• Product price: $65.
• Fee shown before personal details: only “delivery charges start as low as $19.99.” The charge for 10801 on October 20 was not shown.
• What you know before entering details: $65, plus a delivery charge we could not see. The cart did not keep the item during our check, so no subtotal appeared. The date picker showed no surcharge for Tuesday, October 20.

Sizes are not directly comparable. Bloom Lane describes its tiers without stem counts or dimensions. FTD lists approximate dimensions for its Deluxe size, about 11 inches high by 13 inches wide, but no stem count. The pages we checked publish no stem counts for either site.

What the total actually depends on

Bloom Lane’s total for this order is $139 plus applicable tax. Tax is the only amount added on top. Optional celebration balloons are the only add-on we found.

FTD’s total is $65, plus a delivery charge that starts at $19.99 and varies, plus tax. We could not see the exact delivery charge for this address and date. Even so, unless that charge exceeded $74, FTD’s example order costs less than Bloom Lane’s Signature. Its product is also a different size tier, so a lower total does not buy the same gift.

What switching involves

For a one-off flower order, there is nothing to migrate. Keep the recipient’s address, phone number and card wording in your own notes, so you can enter them on the other site. If you hold an FTD Plus membership, check its terms before you leave it. Bloom Lane has no membership to give up. Keep FTD order confirmations too, since they are the record you will need if a delivery goes wrong.

Is FTD cheaper than Bloom Lane?

For our example, very likely yes. FTD’s Deluxe mixed fall bouquet lists at $65, and Bloom Lane’s Designer’s Choice Signature lists at $139. FTD’s delivery charge is not shown until later; it starts at $19.99 and varies. Even at a higher delivery charge, FTD’s order would usually still cost less. Bloom Lane’s difference is that $139 is the whole price before tax, shown up front. The two are different products and sizes, so compare what you would receive as well as the total.

Can I estimate FTD’s total by adding $19.99?

No. $19.99 is FTD’s starting price for standard delivery. The charge for your address and date can be higher.

Does FTD guarantee its flowers?

FTD says perishable flowers and plants are guaranteed to last seven days. You can ask for re-delivery or a refund within that time. Bloom Lane publishes no written guarantee, so ask support about cancellations or refunds before you order.

Does Bloom Lane include tax?

No. Applicable location-based tax is added on top of the product price.
